Purple Prairie Clover
This native perennial can be slow to get a start but thrives in full sun and well-drained soil - tolerating average to dry soil. In midsummer, cylindrical purple flowers are produced above airy foliage comprised of many small leaflets.
Delphiniums
Delphiniums produce large spikes composed of many smaller flowers ranging from white, pink, purple, blue and lavender in solids or with white or black bees. Their height is dependent on variety with the Pacific Giants reaching 7-8 feet! Their herbaceous foliage comprised of deeply lobed, palmate leaves is attractive as well.
Trollius ‘Golden Queen’
An herbaceous perennial with deeply toothed foliage produces fantastically interesting flowers in a warm golden orange in early summer. It prefers a moist garden site - perhaps in a bog garden or by water side. Both hardy and trouble free. Cut back hard after bloom to promote new foliage and possible late summer blooms.
White Masterwort
A 2-4' clump forming perennial with palmately divided leaves that produce delicate 1" umbels of white flowers in early summer.
