Seed-Starting Schedule

Seed-Starting Schedule

The following table provides a chart for seed starting according to Boulder's average last day of frost (May 3rd). This chart, developed by the Hudson Valley Seed Library, was edited for our region.

Nestled in the sandstone hillside near Lyons, Colorado is a gardeners' paradise. The vibrant, thriving gardens that surround our business and the wild foothills that rise next to it provide the sensation that you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind. However, we are conveniently located at the intersection of two major roads, just minutes away from Longmont, Boulder and Estes Park.

Upon your first visit, you may be surprised at how much we have to offer. Our Greenhouse carries an incredible array of one-of-a-kind container gardens and hanging baskets and we strive to maintain an unusual and eclectic selection of perennials, annuals, and indoor houseplants. Amongst the greenery, you will find a wide and unique selection of pottery, statuary, garden ornaments, outdoor furniture, garden style gifts and home décor.

Fresh bouquets are available in the Gardenshoppe, or, be bold and cut your own from our ever expanding 'Cut Flower Garden'. Gwynne's caters to both novice and expert gardeners. The knowledgeable staff can help you make informed decisions about which perennials and annuals work best in your area, based on altitude, drought-tolerance, pest resistance and other pertinent conditions. At Christmas we offer a complete Santa's workshop with ornaments, holiday decorations, Christmas plants, wreaths and trees.

Take a peek; Gwynne's Greenhouse & Gardenshoppe is beyond expectation.
